Running is something that we should all do. Getting a good run in a few times a week is vital to keeping in good health. A treadmill is a great way to get a workout in without leaving your house or without being exposed to the weather outside. Below I have listed more benefits to running on a treadmill.
#1 You always have perfect weather.
I hinted to this in the intro at the top of this page. Running inside allows you not to worry about cold weather, rain, snow and extreme heat and humidity. No need for sun screen or layers of clothing when you run inside. Temperature-controlled environment allows you the perfect conditions to run in every time. This allows you to stay in a routine and not miss any runs.
#2 Your body love the treadmill.
Treadmills are lower impact that running outside. This helps reduce the amount of stress on your feet and your knees. The extra cushioning and smooth surface make it easier to run.
#3 You can simulate any type of running surface.
No matter where you live a treadmill can simulate the greatest courses in the world. If you live in a very flat area and you’re training for a hilly marathon, you can still run hills on the treadmill. This can also help your reflexology.
#4 Safety first.
Running indoors on a treadmill means you don’t have to deal with potential hazards of running outside, such as falling, cars, cyclists, dogs, and other attackers. If you don’t have a running partner or group to run outside with, running on a treadmill is a safer alternative than running alone outside. Check out safety tips for running outside here.
#5 You can control your speed and incline.
When running outside, some runners have a hard time maintaining a consistent pace and end up running faster or slower than they wanted to. The treadmill makes it easy to track your mileage and pace. Running without shoes on can also be very difficult outside but inside running barefoot is great on your feet.
#6 You can watch TV.
Sometime running can get boring. But when you run inside it doesn’t have to be boring at all. You can watch TV, movies and news programs while you get a workout in. You can also read or listen to music without headphones.
